Jakob Schweizer is the scientific coordinator of MaxSynBio. MaxSynBio is an academic network of 20 research groups from nine Max Planck Institutes across Germany, as well as the Department of Theology of the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the University of Bordeaux, and is dedicated to the research of the bottom-up assembly of synthetic cells. Jakob is especially interested in the facilitation of scientific insight and its implications for society. He brings people from different scientific backgrounds together, coordinates communication and motivates decision finding. One of his favourite tasks is matching of problems and solutions. At the SynBio Market Meeting, Jakob will moderate a round table on the transfer of innovations from academic research to industrial applications. Next to his scientific activities, Jakob is also engaged with the Scientists For Future.
